Strategic thinkers, marketers and creative gurus will join together this May as the San Francisco Chapter of the American Marketing Association (SFAMA) hosts the annual Excellence in Marketing Awards. The event will connect Fortune 500 companies and their multi-million dollar marketing budgets with small, family run organizations whose marketing efforts impact the local community on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at the Hilton San Francisco Financial District, 750 Kearny Street, San Francisco. In addition, the event is a fundraiser helping to raise money to benefit local college marketing students.
Each year the SFAMA honors Bay Area companies whose marketing achievements rate the highest distinction in three categories:
- Small Company
- Large Company
- Non Profit
Look for great food, door prizes and an opportunity to network with the Bay Area’s marketing community.
In 2004, the SFAMA began awarding the Collegiate Excellence Awards (CEA). Each year, the SFAMA awards three students from local universities for outstanding research essays analyzing EIMA nominees. Local schools participating in this award include: The University of San Francisco (USF), Golden Gate University (GGU) and San Francisco State University (SFSU).
A goal of the SFAMA Chapter is to add value to our 600-member association by bringing in high profile companies to discuss cutting edge marketing issues and innovations in marketing. The SFAMA is renowned for its annual Excellence in Marketing Awards. In 2007, winners included YouTube, Safeway, Sun Microsystems, Grey Advertising and Exploratorium.
SFAMA is a not-for-profit trade association that was founded in 1937 and recently celebrated its 70th anniversary.
