collegiate program
SFAMA maintains strong ties to the academic community and supports students seeking to enter the marketing profession and to enhance their marketing skills via formal study.
Students enjoy reduced membership dues of only $57 per year. Membership provides access to all national and local benefits of professional-level members – including discounted publications, student rates to attend local events, and access to chapter and national job boards.
Upon graduation, student members may become professional members through the AMA Bridge Program with reduced annual dues of $75 per year for up to 3 years. Membership includes a subscription to Marketing News.
We also sponsor two annual events to promote student-to-business interaction. The SFAMA Marketing Career Fair is a student-run event attracting hundreds of graduate and undergraduate marketing students.
The next Fair will be held 13 March 2008 at the University of San Francisco. Company recruiters who are interested in participating may contact Dr, Blodwen Tarter for additional information.
The Collegiate Excellence Awards recognize three students for their outstanding contribution to the nominee evaluation process, a key part of SFAMA’s annual Excellence in Marketing Awards.
The competition is administered by student leaders from the three SFAMA collegiate chapters. The student winners are presented their CEA award at the EIMA celebration, and are recognized on the SFAMA web site and in the Marketing Connections newsletter.
The precise amount of the CEA awards are dependent on the success of our annual career fair. Three awards are given - one for best research paper and two for runners-up.
Student Chapters
SFAMA currently has three collegiate chapters which introduce students to the Bay Area business community. Marketing students at Golden Gate University, San Francisco State University, and the University of San Francisco can contact their local student chapter for membership information.
